Republic Act No. 10022 is the “Migrant Workers and Overseas Filipinos Act of 1995” as amended, and was enacted to strengthen the protection and welfare of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs).

It was signed into law on March 8, 2010, and is an amendment to RA 8042, the original Migrant Workers Act of 1995.

     • Natural death
     • Permanent disability

     • Subsistence allowance in case of contract violation
     • Money claims
4. ✅ Reintegration Program
   • The law institutionalizes reintegration services for returning OFWs, including:
     • Livelihood assistance
     • Skills training
     • Financial literacy programs
5. ✅ Penalties for Illegal Recruitment
   • RA 10022 strengthens penalties against illegal recruiters, including harsher fines and imprisonment.
   • Recruitment agencies may face suspension or revocation if found violating the law.
6. ✅ Legal Assistance Fund
   • Ensures availability of funds to assist OFWs in distress, including legal representation and repatriation.
